On Saturday morning, I got ready to do the laundry. I put the white clothes together, and the dark clothes together. I also checked the small label inside each item. When my friend arrived, she saw me sitting on the sofa holding the tiny sweater. She asked, what happened? I said, I shrank my new sweater. What should I do now? The label actually said very clearly to use cold water and wash it slowly by hand. After washing it, you also should not pull it hard. When I bought clothes, I had only looked at the color and size, and had never carefully checked how to wash them. I felt that I had been too careless and rushed.

My friend found a method online. She said we could first put the sweater in warm water, then add a little hair conditioner and wait twenty minutes. Then we could gently stretch the sweater, and perhaps it would help a little. I did not know whether it would work, but I decided to try.

We found a large basin and poured in warm water, then put the sweater inside. Twenty minutes later, I gently took out the sweater without wringing it hard. My friend and I laid it flat on a towel, and slowly stretched the sleeves and the bottom. When we finished, it really was a little bigger than before.

After the sweater dried, I tried it on again. It still was not as big as it had been, but I could wear it now. The sleeves were a little short, so I wore a white shirt underneath. It looked good this way too, and my friend said it looked like a new outfit. I finally smiled.
