Hey everyone, it's me, Leo! Today, I want to take you on a subway ride. Are you ready? Let's set off together!
First, let me tell you a little secret. I came back to Hangzhou from England. When I was in England, I rarely took the subway. When I first came back, I wasn't very good at it, and I felt a little nervous.
But now, I really like taking the subway. The subway is fast, convenient, and also very cheap. In Hangzhou, I take the subway to work every day.
I don't only take the subway for work. On weekends, I often take the subway to go out and have fun. I take the subway to the park, to see friends, and to go eat something tasty. With the subway, I can go to so many places.
At eight in the morning, I leave home. The subway station isn't far from my place, it's just a ten-minute walk away. The weather is nice today, so I walk and listen to music, and I'm in a great mood.
Soon, I arrive at the subway station. The station entrance is on the right side of the road, and above it there is a blue sign, with the word Subway on it, so it is easy to find.
I walk down the stairs. There is an elevator here too, and when it is crowded, I just take the elevator. It is a little cool down below, really comfortable.
Before entering, you have to go through security first. I put my bag on the machine, a staff member takes a look, and that is it. Security is quick, not a hassle at all.
Now, I use my phone to enter. I open my phone and place it on the reader, with a soft beep, the gate opens. I walk through, fast and convenient.
You can also buy a ticket, or use a subway card. But I think the phone is the most convenient, so I use my phone every day.
Once inside, I first look at the subway map on the wall. The subway has many lines: Line 1, Line 2, and Line 3. Today I am taking Line 2.
I follow the signs. The signs have arrows that tell me which way to go. The direction I want is on the left, so I walk to the left.
I go down to the platform and wait behind the line. There are quite a few people here, but everyone is quiet, no one talks loudly.
There is a screen on the platform that says: next train, three minutes. I take a look, there is still time, so I wait patiently.
Three minutes later, the train arrives. The train is big and very clean. The doors open, and I let the people inside get off first, and then I get on.
When getting on, you have to be a little careful. There is a small gap between the door and the train, so I watch my step, and walk in slowly.
In the morning it is crowded, and often there are no seats. Today I am lucky, I find a seat, so I sit down. Sitting feels so nice.
Sometimes there are no seats, so I stand. When I am standing, I hold on tight, so that I will not fall when the train moves.
On the train there are some seats called priority seats. These seats are for the elderly and children. If someone needs one, I stand up, and give my seat to them.
On the train, some people look at their phones, some listen to music, and some are even sleeping. I like to look out the window and watch the city go by.
On the subway, there are some things you cannot do. For example, you cannot eat, and you cannot talk loudly on the phone. Everyone follows the rules well, so the subway is clean and quiet.
There are announcements on the train. At every stop, it tells you which station this is, and where the next stop is. By listening, I know when I should get off.
After a few stops, I need to change trains. At this station, I switch from Line 2 to Line 1. Changing trains is not hard, I just follow the signs, and I can find the way.
The transfer walk is a little long, so I walk for a while. There are lots of people, and everyone walks fast, so I walk along with the crowd.
I reach the Line 1 platform and wait for another train. This time there are fewer people, so I get on quickly, and I even find a seat.
After three more stops, I am almost there. I stand up, walk over to the door, and get ready to get off. As soon as the doors open, I step off.
I follow the exit signs and use my phone to exit, another soft beep, the gate opens, and I am out. The station has many exits: Exit A, Exit B, Exit C, and I come out from Exit A.
See, taking the subway is just that simple. Fast, cheap, and convenient. Now, taking the subway has become a part of my daily routine. Thank you for riding the subway with me today, I hope you enjoyed it too. See you next time!
