Today is a beautiful clear day, the sun is lovely. On such a nice day, the one thing I most want to do is laundry! I'll speak slowly, so you can listen and learn Chinese with me.
I've been busy these past few days and haven't done any laundry. Look, there are already so many dirty clothes in the basket. It's really sunny today — a perfect day to do laundry.
Before washing, I sort the clothes first. I put the white clothes together, and the colored clothes together. Washing them separately keeps the white clothes from changing color.
I also check every pocket. Sometimes there's a piece of paper in a pocket, or some other little thing. Take it out first, then wash — that's best.
Okay, it's ready to wash. I put the clothes into the washing machine, and pour in a little detergent. Then I press start, and the machine begins to turn.
Now I don't have to wash by hand — the machine does it for me. I just have to wait for it to finish. Isn't that convenient?
While I wait, I pour myself a glass of water. I sit down and rest for a bit. The washing machine hums away beside me, and the sound is really soothing.
After a while, the clothes are done. I walk over and open the machine. The clothes inside are clean and smell nice.
I take out the wet clothes one by one, and put them in the basket. The clothes are still wet now, and a little heavy. I'm going to take them out to hang.
I walk out to the balcony. The sun is wonderful today, and the breeze feels nice too. On a day like this, the clothes will surely dry fast.
I hang up the clothes one by one. The big ones on this side, the small ones on that side. I hang them slowly, getting every piece just right.
All hung up, the clothes sway gently in the wind. Watching them, I feel so relaxed. Hanging laundry is a small thing that makes me happy.
Now I leave the rest to the sun. There's no rush — in a few hours, the clothes will dry on their own. I go do something else for now.
By the afternoon, the sun is about to set. I come back to the balcony, touch the clothes — all dry! I take them down one by one.
The dry clothes carry the smell of the sun, so warm and fragrant. I really love this smell. Only clothes dried in the sun have a smell like this.
Once they're in, I sit down to fold them. I fold every piece nice and neat. The folded clothes look so pleasant.
Finally, I put the clothes into the wardrobe. The wardrobe fills right up, all neat and tidy. With all that done, my heart feels clean and clear too.
There, the laundry is all washed and put away. Thank you for doing the laundry with me today. I hope your day is clean and cozy too, and I'll see you next time!
