逐句阅读
小悦大家好,欢迎收听新一期的《大白话中文》!我是小悦!

Hey everyone! Welcome to a new episode of Simply Natural Chinese! I'm Xiao Yue!

Leo大家好,我是Leo。

Hey everyone, I'm Leo.

小悦今天我们还是在我的甜品店里,一边喝茶一边聊天。

Today we're once again in my dessert shop, chatting over a cup of tea.

Leo小悦,今天我特别有自信,因为这次我提前知道了我们要聊的词。

Xiao Yue, I'm feeling really confident today, because this time I found out our topic word in advance.

小悦是吗?那你说说看,今天我们要聊什么?

Oh really? Then go ahead — what are we talking about today?

Leo今天我们要聊"月光族"。

Today we're talking about the "moonlight clan."

小悦没错!你是怎么知道的?

That's right! How did you know?

Leo我昨天在网上看到这个词,觉得很有意思。

I saw the word online yesterday and thought it was really interesting.

小悦那你知道"月光族"是什么意思吗?

So do you know what "moonlight clan" means?

Leo当然知道!这个词我一看就明白了。

Of course I do! I understood this word the moment I saw it.

小悦好,那你说,月光族是什么样的人?

Okay then, you tell me — what kind of people are the moonlight clan?

Leo月光族嘛,就是喜欢月光的一群人。

The moonlight clan? They're a group of people who love moonlight.

小悦喜欢月光?

Love moonlight?

Leo对啊。"月光"就是月亮的光,对吧?

Yeah. "Moonlight" is the light of the moon, right?

小悦月亮的光,确实是叫月光,没错。

The light of the moon — yes, that is indeed called moonlight.

Leo所以月光族,就是那种喜欢在晚上出门的人。

So the moonlight clan must be the type of people who love going out at night.

小悦晚上出门?

Going out at night?

Leo对。月亮出来了,他们才开始活动,白天睡觉,晚上特别有精神。

Right. They only come alive once the moon is out — they sleep during the day and are full of energy at night.

小悦哈哈哈哈!

Hahahaha!

Leo你笑什么?我觉得我说得很有道理啊。

What are you laughing at? I think what I'm saying makes total sense.

小悦你继续说,我想听听你的理解。

Go on, I want to hear your interpretation.

Leo他们一到晚上就出门去玩,去酒吧,去夜市,去享受夜生活。

As soon as night falls, they head out to have fun — bars, night markets, enjoying the nightlife.

小悦哈哈,所以在你的理解里,月光族是一群"夜猫子"?

Haha, so in your interpretation, the moonlight clan is a bunch of "night owls"?

Leo对!夜猫子!我们英文里也有这个说法,叫 night owl。

Exactly! Night owls! We have that expression in English too — night owl.

小悦你的想象力真的太丰富了。

Your imagination is really something.

Leo难道我说错了?

Wait, did I get it wrong?

小悦Leo,我跟你说,你这次理解得……完全不对。

Leo, I have to tell you — this time you got it... completely wrong.

Leo啊?不对吗?可是"月光"明明就是月亮的光。

Huh? Wrong? But "yuèguāng" obviously just means the light of the moon.

小悦我懂你的逻辑,但是这个"月光",不是那个"月光"。

I see your logic, but this "yuèguāng" isn't that "yuèguāng."

Leo还能是哪个月光?

What other "yuèguāng" could it be?

小悦这里的"月",是"月薪"的月,是"一个月"的月。

The "yuè" here is the "yuè" from "yuèxīn" — monthly salary. It's the "yuè" that means "a month."

Leo哦,是"月份"的意思。

Oh, so it means "month."

小悦对。而这里的"光",也不是光线的光。

Right. And the "guāng" here isn't the "guāng" that means a ray of light either.

Leo那是什么意思?

Then what does it mean?

小悦"光"在这里,是"用完了""一点都不剩"的意思。

Here, "guāng" means "all used up" — nothing left at all.

Leo用完了……所以"花光",就是把钱全部花掉?

All used up... so "huāguāng" means spending every last bit of your money?

小悦完全正确!你反应很快嘛。

Exactly right! You catch on fast.

Leo所以"月光族"是……每个月把钱花光的人?

So the "moonlight clan" is... people who spend all their money every month?

小悦没错!每个月一发工资,很快就花得一干二净。

That's right! Every month, the moment their salary comes in, they spend it all, down to the last cent.

Leo哇,差好多。我以为是浪漫的月光,结果是钱包空空。

Wow, that's so different. I thought it was romantic moonlight, but it turns out it's an empty wallet.

小悦哈哈,是的。这个词,其实有一点点心酸。

Haha, yes. This word is actually a little bit bittersweet.

Leo那这个"族"呢?我发现很多词后面都有"族"。

Then what about the "zú"? I've noticed a lot of words end with "zú."

小悦"族"就是"一类人""一群人"的意思。

"Zú" just means "a type of people," "a group of people."

Leo所以上班族是上班的一群人,月光族是月月花光的一群人。

So the "office-worker clan" is the group of people who go to work, and the "moonlight clan" is the group who spends it all month after month.

小悦你看,你一下就懂了。中文很多新词都是这样组合出来的。

See? You got it right away. Lots of new Chinese words are built by combining parts like this.

Leo原来如此。那我刚才的"夜猫子"版本,可以忘掉了。

I see. So I can forget my earlier "night owl" version.

小悦哈哈,可以忘掉了。不过你别说,你那个版本还挺浪漫的。

Haha, yes, you can forget it. But you know what — your version was actually pretty romantic.

Leo浪漫是浪漫,可惜是错的。

Romantic, sure — too bad it's wrong.

小悦那我们就正式来聊聊真正的月光族。

So let's properly talk about the real moonlight clan.

Leo好。我想先问,什么样的人最容易变成月光族?

Sure. First I want to ask — what kind of people are most likely to become part of the moonlight clan?

小悦一般来说,是刚工作不久的年轻人。

Generally speaking, it's young people who haven't been working very long.

Leo为什么是年轻人?

Why young people?

小悦因为他们工资还不高,但是想买的东西特别多。

Because their salary isn't high yet, but there's so much they want to buy.

Leo这个我能理解。

That I can understand.

小悦很多年轻人,工资一到手,先还信用卡,再交房租,然后买买买,月底就没钱了。

For a lot of young people, the second their paycheck arrives, they pay off the credit card, pay rent, then shop, shop, shop — and by the end of the month, the money's gone.

Leo所以是"赚多少花多少"。

So it's "spend as much as you earn."

小悦对,甚至有的人,是花得比赚的还多。

Right — and some people even spend more than they earn.

Leo花得比赚的还多?那不就欠钱了吗?

Spend more than they earn? Doesn't that mean they end up in debt?

小悦是啊,所以现在很多年轻人,在用一种叫"花呗"的东西。

Exactly, which is why a lot of young people now use something called "Huabei."

Leo"花呗"?这个名字好可爱。

"Huabei"? That's such a cute name.

小悦花呗是支付宝里的一个功能,简单说,就是可以先花钱,下个月再还。

Huabei is a feature inside Alipay. Simply put, you can spend the money now and pay it back next month.

Leo哦,有点像信用卡。

Oh, kind of like a credit card.

小悦对,原理很像,都是提前消费。

Right, the idea is very similar — both are spending money before you have it.

Leo所以月光族很多,都在用花呗、信用卡这一类东西。

So a lot of the moonlight clan are using things like Huabei and credit cards.

小悦没错。有个说法很形象,叫"这个月还上个月的债"。

Exactly. There's a vivid way to put it: "this month you pay off last month's debt."

Leo哈哈,永远在还钱。

Haha, forever paying money back.

小悦对,工资还没焐热,就已经没了。

Right — your paycheck hasn't even warmed up, and it's already gone.

Leo"焐热"是什么意思?

What does "wùrè" mean?

小悦"焐热"就是用身体让一个东西变暖。工资还没焐热,意思是钱刚到手,还没感觉到,就花出去了。

"Wùrè" means warming something up with your body heat. "Your paycheck hasn't warmed up" means the money just reached your hands — you barely felt it — and it's already spent.

Leo这个说法太生动了。钱在口袋里待的时间太短,连暖都暖不起来。

That's such a vivid expression. The money stays in your pocket for so little time it doesn't even get a chance to warm up.

小悦哈哈,就是这个意思。

Haha, that's exactly it.

Leo那月光族到了月底,是什么状态?

So what state is the moonlight clan in by the end of the month?

小悦网上有个很流行的说法,叫"月底吃土"。

There's a popular phrase online: "eating dirt at the end of the month."

Leo吃土?真的吃土吗?

Eating dirt? Do they actually eat dirt?

小悦当然不是真的。这是开玩笑,意思是钱花光了,穷到只能吃土了。

Of course not really. It's a joke — it means the money's all gone, you're so broke that all that's left to eat is dirt.

Leo哈哈哈,这个夸张的说法我喜欢。

Hahaha, I love that exaggerated expression.

小悦年轻人很喜欢这样自嘲,一边喊着吃土,一边继续买。

Young people love making fun of themselves like this — shouting "eating dirt" while they keep on shopping.

Leo自嘲,就是自己开自己的玩笑?

"Zìcháo" — that's making fun of yourself?

小悦对,自己说自己穷,自己笑自己,这是一种很轻松的态度。

Right — saying you're broke, laughing at yourself. It's a pretty lighthearted attitude.

Leo我发现,中国年轻人很会自嘲。

I've noticed Chinese young people are really good at self-deprecating humor.

小悦是的,把烦恼说成笑话,心里会舒服一点。

Yes — turning your worries into jokes makes you feel a little better.

Leo我很好奇,他们的钱,到底花到哪里去了?

I'm really curious — where exactly does all their money go?

小悦这个问题问得好,我们来数一数。

Great question — let's count it up.

Leo好,我们一项一项算。

Okay, let's go through it item by item.

小悦第一个大头,是吃。

The first big one is food.

Leo吃饭能花很多钱吗?

Can eating really cost that much?

小悦你别小看吃。现在年轻人很少自己做饭,几乎天天点外卖。

Don't underestimate food. These days young people rarely cook for themselves — they order delivery almost every day.

Leo外卖确实方便。

Delivery really is convenient.

小悦方便是方便,但一顿外卖三四十块,一天两顿,一个月就不少了。

Convenient, sure, but one delivery meal is thirty or forty yuan — two meals a day, and over a month it adds up to a lot.

Leo再加上喝的。

And then there are drinks.

小悦对!你太懂了。还有奶茶、咖啡。

Exactly! You get it. There's also bubble tea and coffee.

Leo中国的年轻人,是真的爱喝奶茶。

Young people in China really do love bubble tea.

小悦一杯奶茶差不多二十块,有的人一天一杯。

One cup of bubble tea is about twenty yuan, and some people have one every day.

Leo一天一杯,一个月就是六百块。

One a day — that's 600 yuan a month.

小悦算得很快嘛。光是奶茶,就能喝掉一笔钱。

Quick math! Bubble tea alone can drink up a serious chunk of money.

Leo在英国,咖啡也一样。每天一杯,一个月下来很吓人。

In the UK it's the same with coffee. One cup a day, and the monthly total is scary.

小悦对,全世界都一样。这种花钱,有个说法叫"拿铁因素"。

Right, it's the same all over the world. There's a name for this kind of spending — "the Latte Factor."

Leo"拿铁因素"?

"The Latte Factor"?

小悦意思是,那些每天一点点、看起来不起眼的小钱,加在一起其实很多。

It means all those small, unremarkable bits of money you spend every day actually add up to a lot.

Leo原来如此。小钱不小。

I see. Small money isn't so small.

小悦对。除了吃喝,第二个大头是网购。

Right. Besides food and drink, the second big one is online shopping.

Leo网购我也有体会,手机点一点,东西就到家了。

I've experienced that too — a few taps on your phone and the stuff shows up at your door.

小悦太方便也是问题。很多人一不开心,就上网买东西。

Being too convenient is its own problem. A lot of people, the moment they're unhappy, go shopping online.

Leo用买东西,来让自己开心?

Using shopping to make themselves happy?

小悦对,这个有个词,叫"报复性消费"。

Right, there's a word for it — "revenge spending."

Leo"报复性消费"?听起来好严重。

"Revenge spending"? That sounds so intense.

小悦哈哈,没那么严重。意思是,心情不好的时候,突然疯狂地买东西。

Haha, it's not that intense. It means going on a sudden shopping spree when you're in a bad mood.

Leo就像在"报复"自己之前的辛苦?

Like "taking revenge" for all your earlier hard work?

小悦对,用花钱来安慰自己、奖励自己。

Right — using spending to comfort yourself, to reward yourself.

Leo我们英文里有句话很像,叫 treat yourself,意思是对自己好一点。

We have a similar phrase in English — "treat yourself" — meaning, be a little good to yourself.

小悦差不多!偶尔对自己好一点没问题,但天天报复,钱包就受不了了。

Pretty much! Treating yourself once in a while is fine, but take revenge every single day and your wallet can't handle it.

Leo哈哈,钱包表示很委屈。

Haha, the wallet feels very wronged.

小悦还有一个时间,是月光族的大考验。

There's also one particular time that's a big test for the moonlight clan.

Leo什么时间?

What time is that?

小悦每年的"双十一"。

Every year's "Double Eleven."

Leo双十一我听说过,是十一月十一号的购物节。

I've heard of Double Eleven — it's the shopping festival on November 11th.

小悦对。那一天,全网打折,所有人都在抢东西。

Right. On that day, everything online is on sale, and everyone is grabbing things.

Leo那场面一定很疯狂。

That scene must be wild.

小悦很多人一个晚上,能花掉半个月的工资。

Lots of people can spend half a month's salary in a single night.

Leo半个月工资!那第二天醒来,一定很后悔。

Half a month's salary! They must wake up the next day full of regret.

小悦哈哈,所以有个说法,叫"剁手"。

Haha, that's why there's a phrase — "duòshǒu," chopping off your hands.

Leo"剁手"?把手剁掉?

"Duòshǒu"? Chop off your hands?

小悦当然是夸张的说法。意思是买太多了,后悔了,气得想把买东西的那只手剁掉。

It's an exaggeration, of course. It means you bought too much, you regret it, and you're so annoyed you want to chop off the hand that did the shopping.

Leo哈哈哈,但是下次还是会买。

Hahaha, but next time they'll buy again anyway.

小悦对,所以这只手,永远剁不掉。

Right — so that hand never actually gets chopped off.

Leo说到这里,我想到一个问题。中国人,不是很爱存钱吗?

That reminds me of a question. Aren't Chinese people big on saving money?

小悦你说得对,这是一个很有意思的对比。

You're right — and that's a really interesting contrast.

Leo我一直以为,中国人都很会存钱。

I always thought Chinese people were all great at saving.

小悦这个印象没错,但主要是说老一辈。

That impression isn't wrong, but it mainly applies to the older generation.

Leo老一辈,就是父母、爷爷奶奶那一代。

The older generation — that's the parents' and grandparents' generation.

小悦对。他们经历过苦日子,所以特别看重存钱。

Right. They lived through hard times, so they really value saving.

Leo他们会把钱存起来,以防万一。

They put money away, just in case.

小悦对,他们觉得手里有存款,心里才踏实。

Right — they only feel secure when they have savings in hand.

Leo"踏实"是什么意思?

What does "tàshí" mean?

小悦"踏实"就是心里很安定,不慌张。有存款,遇到事情就不怕。

"Tàshí" means feeling calm and settled inside, not anxious. With savings, you're not afraid when something comes up.

Leo我明白了。那为什么,年轻人不一样了?

I see. So why are young people different now?

小悦原因很多。第一,年轻人觉得,钱是赚来花的,不是放着看的。

There are many reasons. First, young people feel money is earned to be spent, not to sit there and be looked at.

Leo享受当下。

Enjoy the present.

小悦对,他们更看重现在的生活质量。

Right — they care more about their quality of life right now.

Leo那第二个原因呢?

And the second reason?

小悦第二,现在能花钱的地方太多了,诱惑也太多了。

Second, there are just too many places to spend money now, and too many temptations.

Leo诱惑,就是让你忍不住想要的东西。

Temptation — that's something you can't help wanting.

小悦对。手机一打开,到处都是广告,都在让你买买买。

Right. The moment you open your phone, ads are everywhere, all telling you to buy, buy, buy.

Leo想存钱,真的需要很强的自制力。

To save money, you really need a lot of self-control.

小悦还有第三个原因,有些年轻人,其实是不会管钱。

And there's a third reason — some young people simply don't know how to manage money.

Leo不会管钱?

Don't know how to manage money?

小悦对,他们不知道自己的钱花到哪去了。月底一看,钱没了,却想不起来花在哪。

Right — they don't know where their money went. At the end of the month they look, the money's gone, but they can't remember what they spent it on.

Leo这个我太懂了,我以前也这样。

Oh, I know that one too well — I used to be like that.

小悦所以现在很流行一件事,叫"记账"。

So there's something really popular now — keeping a spending log.

Leo"记账",是把每一笔花的钱都写下来?

"Jìzhàng" — writing down every bit of money you spend?

小悦对。每花一笔钱,就记一下,花了多少,花在哪。

Right. Every time you spend, you note it down — how much, and on what.

Leo这样月底,就能看清楚了。

That way, at the end of the month, you can see it clearly.

小悦对,很多人用手机里的记账软件,很方便。

Right — lots of people use a budgeting app on their phone, it's very convenient.

Leo记账之后,真的能少花钱吗?

After you start logging, do you really spend less?

小悦会的。因为当你看到,自己一个月光奶茶就喝掉了六百块,你自己都会吓一跳。

You do. Because when you see that you drank away 600 yuan on bubble tea alone in one month, you give yourself a real scare.

Leo哈哈,数字会说话。

Haha, the numbers speak for themselves.

小悦对。还有一个办法,叫"强制储蓄"。

Right. There's another method, called "forced saving."

Leo"强制储蓄",听这个名字,是逼自己存钱?

"Forced saving" — by the sound of it, you force yourself to save?

小悦对。意思是,工资一到手,先存一部分,剩下的才能花。

Right. It means the moment your salary arrives, you save a portion first, and only spend what's left.

Leo先存,再花。而不是先花,剩下的才存。

Save first, then spend — instead of spending first and saving whatever's left.

小悦完全正确!这两个顺序,结果差很多。

Exactly right! Those two orders lead to very different results.

Leo因为如果先花,往往就剩不下了。

Because if you spend first, there's usually nothing left.

小悦对,你已经抓到重点了。

Right — you've already grasped the key point.

Leo小悦,我想问一个有点不一样的问题。

Xiao Yue, I want to ask a slightly different question.

小悦你说,我在听。

Go ahead, I'm listening.

Leo当月光族,真的是一件坏事吗?

Is being part of the moonlight clan really a bad thing?

小悦这个问题很好。其实,不一定。

That's a great question. Actually, not necessarily.

Leo哦?我以为你会说,月光族不好。

Oh? I thought you'd say the moonlight clan is a bad thing.

小悦你想,如果一个人收入很高,每个月花光,但花得很开心,生活很丰富,这也没什么不对。

Think about it — if someone has a high income, spends it all every month, but spends it happily and has a rich life, there's nothing wrong with that.

Leo所以关键不是"花光",而是"怎么花"。

So the key isn't "spending it all," it's "how you spend it."

小悦对。如果你花的钱,换来的是真正让你快乐的东西,那就是值得的。

Right. If the money you spend buys things that genuinely make you happy, then it's worth it.

Leo但如果只是乱花,买回一堆没用的东西……

But if you just spend carelessly and bring home a pile of useless stuff...

小悦那就要好好想一想了。

Then you really need to think it over.

Leo我还看到一个词,跟月光族有点像,叫"精致穷"。

I also saw a word a bit like moonlight clan — "jīngzhì qióng," exquisite poverty.

小悦哇,你连这个词都知道。

Wow, you even know that word.

Leo可是我不太懂这个词。

But I don't really understand it.

小悦"精致穷",是说一个人,看起来生活很精致、很高级,但其实没什么钱。

"Exquisite poverty" describes someone whose life looks refined and high-end, but who actually has very little money.

Leo精致,就是很讲究、很漂亮?

"Jīngzhì" — that means refined and beautiful?

小悦对。比如,用很贵的化妆品,穿名牌,喝最贵的咖啡,发的朋友圈很好看。

Right. For example, using expensive makeup, wearing designer brands, drinking the priciest coffee, posting gorgeous photos on social media.

Leo但是银行卡里,其实没钱。

But the bank card is actually empty.

小悦对,甚至还欠着债,这就是"精致穷"。

Right — they might even be in debt. That's "exquisite poverty."

Leo我们英文里有一句话很接近,叫 paycheck to paycheck。

We have a phrase in English that's very close — "paycheck to paycheck."

小悦这是什么意思?

What does that mean?

Leo意思是,靠这个月的工资,活到下个月发工资,中间一点多的钱都没有。

It means living on this month's paycheck until next month's comes in, with not a bit of extra money in between.

小悦那真的,跟月光族一模一样。

That really is exactly the same as the moonlight clan.

Leo看来这个现象,全世界都有。

It seems this phenomenon exists all over the world.

小悦对,年轻人花钱的烦恼,是不分国家的。

Right — young people's money troubles don't stop at any border.

Leo那小悦,你觉得,怎样才算是健康的花钱方式?

So Xiao Yue, what do you think counts as a healthy way to spend money?

小悦我觉得,不用太抠门,但也不要乱花。

I think you don't need to be too stingy, but don't spend recklessly either.

Leo"抠门"是什么意思?

What does "kōumén" mean?

小悦"抠门"就是太省了,该花的钱也不舍得花,对自己、对别人都很小气。

"Kōumén" means being too tight with money — unwilling to spend even when you should, and being stingy toward yourself and others.

Leo那"抠门"和"节俭",有什么区别?

Then what's the difference between "kōumén" and "jiéjiǎn"?

小悦好问题。"节俭"是好词,是不浪费;"抠门"是坏词,是太小气。

Good question. "Jiéjiǎn," frugal, is a positive word — it means not being wasteful. "Kōumén," stingy, is a negative word — it means being too tight-fisted.

Leo所以我们要节俭,但不要抠门。

So we should be frugal, but not stingy.

小悦对!该省的地方省,该花的地方花,这才是最舒服的状态。

Right! Save where you should, spend where you should — that's the most comfortable balance.

Leo今天聊了这么多,我帮大家总结一下吧。

We've covered so much today — let me sum it up for everyone.

小悦好啊,你来总结。

Sure, go ahead and summarize.

Leo月光族,就是每个月把工资花光的人,重点在"月"和"光"两个字。

The moonlight clan are people who spend their whole salary every month — the key is in the two parts, "yuè" and "guāng."

小悦对,不是月亮的光,是钱花光的光。

Right — not the light of the moon, but the "guāng" of money all spent.

Leo我们还学了花呗、月底吃土、报复性消费、剁手、精致穷。

We also learned Huabei, "eating dirt at the end of the month," revenge spending, "chopping off your hands," and exquisite poverty.

小悦还有记账和强制储蓄,这是两个对付月光的好办法。

And keeping a spending log and forced saving — two good ways to deal with being a moonlight-clanner.

Leo最后我们说,节俭是好事,但不要变成抠门。

And finally we said being frugal is a good thing, but don't let it turn into being stingy.

小悦总结得太好了!看来你今天,学得很认真。

What a great summary! Looks like you studied hard today.

Leo那我也想问问大家,你是月光族吗?

So I'd like to ask all of you — are you part of the moonlight clan?

小悦对,欢迎在评论区告诉我们,你每个月的钱,最后都花到哪里去了。

Yes — tell us in the comments where your money ends up each month.

Leo说不定,你也有自己对付月光的好办法。

Maybe you've got your own good tricks for dealing with it.

小悦今天就聊到这里,感谢大家收听《大白话中文》!

That's all for today — thanks everyone for listening to Simply Natural Chinese!

Leo我们下期再见!

See you next time!

小悦拜拜!

Bye-bye!
